The standard width for carpet in UK is 3.66 metres; however, some styles of carpet are produced in widths of 4 metres.

Carpets, like all dyed textiles, will slowly lose colour over time when exposed to direct sunlight; therefore, it should be protected from prolonged periods of direct sunlight. Colour change can also occur when carpet is exposed to ozone, emissions from heating fuels and air conditioners, pesticides, cleaning agents, benzoyl peroxide and other household items. This occurrence, known as ozone damage, is largely unexplained but appears to be more prevalent in coastal areas with a high ultra-violet content.

NO! Wool carpet has a natural ability to resist dirt, stains and spills.

You can! For furniture, we recommend that you use felt furniture pads under legs to prevent scratching the flooring surface. Never use rubber, as rubber can stain vinyl flooring.

For heavy furniture and appliances, use a non-staining large surface floor protector. You can also put most vinyl flooring under kitchen cabinets and appliances, but it’s a good idea to glue down those sections.

One of the advantages of vinyl flooring is that it’s an inexpensive way to get the look of materials like hardwood and tile. Vinyl floors are one of the easiest types of flooring to self-install (especially vinyl tile), and high quality vinyl flooring can last over 30 years.

Sweep or vacuum vinyl floors with a solid floor attachment. To clean dirt that won’t come up with a sweep or vacuum, use a non-rinsing cleaner that leaves no film and a mop. Never use an abrasive cleaner, oil cleaner, or dish detergent.

80-85% Virgin Wood, usually softwoods such as Spruce and Pine. 15-20% Organic U/F & M/U/F Resins. 3 layers of impregnated paper, a decorative top layer, an overlay (for wear resistance) and a balance paper for the bottom surface of the laminate flooring.

There are some areas that we do not recommend installing laminate flooring such as bathrooms, wet rooms and saunas.

Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove any surface dust. Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool or scouring pads, as they will damage your floor. For regular cleaning use a cloth, ensuring it is well wrung, it is important not to apply excess moisture to the floor.

The main advantage with Laminate Flooring is it is easy to install, is very durable and hardwearing and relatively inexpensive compared to real hardwood flooring. It is also a very versatile product which can be used in various areas and low maintenance, and a more natural & healthy alternative to carpets.
